Fashion blogger Petra Dieners writes about her visit to PIO O'KAN Couture Atelier

The couture designer was born in the small town of Warburg in Westphalia. Even as a child she dreamed of having a fashion salon in Düsseldorf one day. At the age of 26, she "bravely", as she says, organised a fashion show at the Steigenberger Parkhotel with 52 ladies from Düsseldorf society. "Everyone was thrilled with my first collection and so shortly afterwards I opened my first fashion salon on Königsstraße."

When you talk to the couture designer, 40 years later you realise how much passion she still has for her profession. "Many people only see the glamour, but not how much hard work is behind it. If you're not so infected and full of heart and soul, you can't keep it up. Now we are keeping our fingers crossed for the next generation, my son Philippo." Together with designer Hans Werner Klein and studio manager Mirjam Zwick, they continue to develop the company.

Since 2016, in addition to haute couture, there has also been a demi-couture collection, which is sold in the company's own flagship store right next to the haute couture salon, as well as in selected retail outlets.

The couture salon of the PIO O'KAN brand is now located on Königsallee in Düsseldorf in Girardet Haus. I love coming here! A wonderful atmosphere. You feel like a princess in Paris in the noble ambience, the high ceilings and the warm hospitality.

Who has a Atelier right on the Kö? PIO O'KAN employs a total of 25 people here. Traditional craftsmanship at the highest level. Absolute precision is required here. The working atmosphere seems very good to me right away. Everyone is there with a love of detail.
