40 YEARS OF MODERNITY PAIRED WITH TRADITIONAL CRAFTSMANSHIP
Originally from Warburg in Westphalia, Helga Grünwoldt-Okan completed her tailoring apprenticeship in the state capital Düsseldorf in one of the most prestigious German ateliers. After passing her master's examination, the young designer then worked in Berlin in a famous Couture house before presenting her first own collection in 1974 in Düsseldorf's Parkhotel.
For more than 40 years, the entrepreneur and designer has stood for couture in Düsseldorf - since 1993 under the brand name "PIO O'KAN". Since 2016, a demi-couture collection has also been appealing to new clientele who do not want to spend time on couture fittings and are specifically looking for off-the-rack perfection - also in order to clearly stand out from well-known labels and the mass market.
THE COUTURE SALON
Directly on the Königsallee, in the historic Girardet-Haus is the home of the elegant and cosy couture salon. The salon is an oasis of calm and relaxation: muted colours, velvet armchairs, discreet floral decorations and fine pastries invite you to linger and enjoy. The exclusive salon is characterized by its stylish Parisian flair, private space and incomparable luxury. Here, in an exclusive and discreet atmosphere and in individual fittings, beautiful and unique one-off creations are created.
THE DEMI-COUTURE STORE
The flagship store of the demi-couture collection is located in the immediate vicinity of the couture salon. The exclusive prêt-á-porter line by PIO O'KAN is presented in bright and friendly rooms. The collection's concept focuses on small quantities, special details and models that are coordinated with each other.

THE ATELIER
The atelier is located on the floors directly above the salon ensuring that your wishes during fittings can be fulfilled and implemented promptly.
In our bright and spacious atelier, the designers, seamstresses and apprentices take care of the realisation of your individual pieces. Between fabrics, design drawings and colourful threads, buttons are intricately embroidered with tiny pearls, small silk flowers and lace details are applied, hems and edges are sewn by hand with the finest stitches and shoes are designed to match the outfits. Each outfit is a masterpiece - modernity paired with traditional couture workmanship.
